THE FINAL DESTINATION is only a couple weeks away and if you haven’t decided if you’ll be checking this one out yet, this may help in making up your mind! Actually it’ll only help if you live near the selected areas… but this is still cool as hell!
How would you like to experience THE FINAL DESTINATION? I’m talking live the movie… sort of. NewsWire are hitting us with an interesting article involving the 3-D film and D-BOX Technologies Inc.. D-BOX what? Well here’s an exact description of D-BOX Technologies: D-BOX Technologies designs and manufactures leading edge high-technology motion systems mainly suited to the needs of the entertainment industry. With its unique patented technology, D-BOX Motion Code(TM), it uses motion codes specifically programmed for each film, TV program or video game, which are sent to a motion generating system integrated within either a platform or a seat. The resulting motion is perfectly synchronised with all onscreen action, creating an unmatched realistic, immersive experience. To date, D-BOX Motion Code(TM) is available on over 850 titles. Accordingly, many prominent Hollywood studios have started embedding D-BOX Motion Code(TM) on selected high definition Blu-ray(TM) releases. By reaching agreements with the leaders of both the motion picture and gaming industries, D-BOX’s award-winning motion technology is gradually proving itself as a new global standard in the entertainment world.
Alright, so I have your attention right? And now you’re asking yourself what this has to do with THE FINAL DESTINATION? Well it seems D-BOX and New Line have paired up to present the first 3-D film brought to us through D-BOX. What does that mean? Well I’ll let the release explain: This is the first time D-BOX’s immersive technology will be combined with 3-D technology, offering moviegoers the opportunity to enjoy an unparalleled cinematic experience where they can watch the action in three dimensions and live the extraordinary sensations of onscreen action. D-BOX’s motion-enhanced seating provide an unmatched, realistic and immersive experience, utilizing refined subtle motion effects that work in perfect sync with the onscreen action.
That sounds insane! Is this too good to be true? Being an avid movie fan I’m thinking this experience would be amazing! Could this actually be the future of film? Unfortunately locations with D-BOX technology are limited to only six theaters throughout the United States. Six theaters! Damn… don’t suppose the chances of one being near me are any good… and they’re not. Here’s the list: the Mann Chinese 6 in Hollywood, California; UltraStar Cinemas in Surprise, Arizona; Mall of America Theatres in Bloomington, Minnesota; Galaxy Highland Theatres in Austin, Texas and most recently, Galaxy Cannery in Las Vegas, Nevada and UltraStar Cinemas in Apple Valley, California. D-BOX recently made its entrance into Canada at Toronto’s Cineplex Odeon Queensway.
So if you live near one of those cinemas do me a favor and check this shite out… then come let us know how it was and make us all jealous. THE FINAL DESTINATION hits theaters on August 28th in 2-D, 3-D and D-BOX!
