What did you guys think of last year’s DEATH RACE remake? Honestly, I didn’t get a chance to check it out, but I would if I had some time. Well, regardless of what any of us think, a prequel is already in the works. I honestly didn’t know that D.R. was that popular.
The news was broke over at Shock that Tony Giglio (TIMBER FALLS) has already been hired to write the script based on an original story by DEATH RACE’s director, Paul W.S. Anderson. No word yet on Anderson returning to helm the prequel, but I seriously doubt it. Actually, it is rumored that Giglio make take over the reins.
The plot is said to delve into the past of Jason Stathum’s “Frankenstein” character. I guess this idea could work. What say you my genre brethren? Anderson’s company, Impact Pictures, will be producing.
