And what’s the verdict? Before we get to that let me ask something… what’s the big deal with THE LOVELY BONES? Is it because this flick is directed by Peter Jackson? It must be because there doesn’t seem to be much else going for it. The movie itself seems like something we’ve seen over and over again. Here’s a smashup for you: THE INVISIBLE meets WHAT DREAMS MAY COME. Am I right? At least that’s the impression I’m getting with this trailer.
So what’s your take? Am I not seeing something here? THE LOVELY BONES is based on the novel by Alice Sebold and centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family – and her killer – from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal. It stars Mark Wahlberg, Saoirse Ronan, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Jake Abel, Charlie Saxton, Michael Imperioli and Amanda Michalka (below). It’s due to hit theaters December 11th.
