While browsing for interesting news to tell you all about I stumbled across The Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Business Blog and came across something that caught my eye and didn’t let go.
Have you ever heard of Dark Horse Comic’s FEAR AGENT? Well I hadn’t but now you can go ahead and color me intrigued! In case you’re like me and hadn’t heard of FEAR AGENT until today let me school you all before I get into the news bit. FEAR AGENT is about a colorful, borderline alcoholic astronaut named Heath Huston, a Texan who works as a so-called fear agent, the last of a dwindling breed of spacemen whose mission it is to fight threats to the planet Earth, which is partly destroyed during the course of the series. The Risky Biz Blog describes it as ‘a kind of in-your-face adventure as Huston hops around the galaxy fighting various alien species and threats.’ The FEAR AGENT comic started back in 2005 with Rick Remender writing it.
Now it’s no secret that Universal and Dark Horse Entertainement have a very healthy partnership going on right now and that’s where the news today comes from! It seems FEAR AGENT is the newest Dark Horse property destined to be adapted for the big screen! Universal are now looking at scripts based on the comic series and apparently they have a keen eye on a spec owned by Jonathan Shestack. So it seems they might just pick that one up and bring Shestack on as a producer.
That’s the just of what we’ve got so far regarding FEAR AGENT but we’ll be keeping an eye on this one and bringing you udpates as we hear them!
