The end of the week has come once again and here I am to bring you all another update on some horror collectibles! This time we’re concentrating on some Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees figures! Oh that delectable duo!
First up it looks like Mezco are planning on adding the horror legends to it’s Mez-Itz line. This news comes from the guys over at Dread Central and includes the early test art seen above. Mezco’s Mez-Itz stand at 6 inches tall and offer above average sculpting on the vinyl figures and accessories. Freddy and Jason are set to join Hellboy, Abe Sapien, Frankenstein, Dracula, and GOOSEBUMPS’ Slappy the Dummy. The HELLBOY figures are set for release next month but no word on a release date for the rest.
Next up we’ve got a new genre statue coming from the guys at Gentle Giant LTD. This one depicts our favorite hockey mask wearing slasher Jason Voorhees taking a load off. As you can see above Jason is taking a moment to ponder what he’s just done… which I’m sure was interupt some hot chick showing us her goodies while ‘getting it on.’ That is what the guy does best afterall. This statue actually happens to be an outtake from FREDDY VS JASON. As you can see Jason is staking his trusted machete through a certain fedora… also you’ll find Freddy’s glove lying forgotten on the bed. Pretty cool huh? Here’s the pitch from Gentle Giant:
Jason Voorhees! With over 300 kills to his credit, it’s no wonder that the guy needs to sit down and take a break for a minute. Seen here in an outtake from the Freddy vs. Jason feature film; Jason sits atop his old childhood bed and reflects on…well simpler days. Note the sinister Freddy Krueger glove and trademark Fedora in the piece! A fantastic companion to Gentle Giant’s previous Nightmare on Elm St. statue.
This piece is hand painted and cast in durable a poly-stone material. Another strictly limited edition just in time for Halloween. Includes matching hand numbered certificate of authenticity.
