WWZ update

Ever since I read it, I’ve been wondering what a WORLD WAR Z movie might look like. The book doesn’t necessarily scream adapt me, but some of the scenarios within it are certainly ready for prime time. Last year, it was announced that screenwriter J. Michael Straczynski (CHANGELING) and director Marc Forster (QUANTUM OF SOLACE) would be attempting to bring it before cameras. Well, easier said than done.

In an interview with Migros Magazin (via Dark Horizons), Forster says that the script still needs developing, and the project is “far from realization”. So much so that he’s moved on to another film, this one called DISCONNECT.

In case you have never heard of it, WORLD WAR Z by Max Brooks tells the story of the world’s desperate battle against the zombie threat with a series of first-person accounts “as told to the author” by various characters around the world.
