I Sell the poster

The latest one-sheet for I SELL THE DEAD popped up online today, featuring a modified “floating heads” style, a killer tagline, zombies, and a guillotine lurking in the background. If this doesn’t give you an idea of what kind of movie this is, I don’t know what will!

While I haven’t seen it, I have seen the trailer, and know that there’s some horrifying stuff going on splashed with some comedic hijinks and all around goofiness. And if Dominic Monaghan’s face doesn’t spell, then my name isn’t Ammon Gilbert.

It’s funny, there’s parts of this poster I really like, including all the stuff in the background and the Never Trust a Corpse… tagline, but beyond that… meh. Ron Perlman, Angus Scrimm, and Larry Fessenden can’t seem to liven it up, and Monaghan is just goofy a bit too goofy looking for me.

As a refresher, I SELL THE DEAD goes little something like this: 18th century justice catches up with a pair of grave robbers. With only a few hours to go before his date with the guillotine, Arthur Blake (Monaghan) tells his life story to Father Francis Duffy (Ron Perlman). Before long, Arthur spills the beans on how he got started in the grim corpse peddling business with seasoned ghoul Willie Grimes (Fessenden).

So here you go. The one-sheet for I SELL THE DEAD. Drink it in. And look for I SELL THE DEAD in select theaters August 14, 2009.
