When I checked out the disappointing shifest knwon as THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT I was treated to a trailer for THE ORPHAN, and you know what? I thought that shit looked pretty damn good!
There seemed to be a splash of THE GOOD SON meets THE OMEN, with girls instead of boys, and let’s not forget that Vera Farmiga is one hot momma–she definitely adds to the appeal.
Well THE ORPHAN got that much cooler today as the good folks at the MPAA have rated it R for disturbing violent content, some sexuality and language. Hells yeah. Violence, sex, and language–my three favorite contributors to R ratings everywhere.
In case you forgot, THE ORPHAN basically goes a little something like this: A husband and wife who recently lost their baby adopt a 9-year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she claims to be.
Not innocent, but downright crazy, yo! Or possessed. Or both! Oh R rating, how nice you’ll be to see this summer when multiplexes are filled with kid-friend lyPG & PG-13 movies galore. Be sure to stick around for more goodies on THE ORPHAN, and get ready to be scared July 24th.
