This here be a rumor if I’ve ever heard of one, but a rumor has that small potential to be true, and when it’s a slow news day, sometimes a rumor is all we have.
FearNET is reporting that, while on the set of H2 of all places, a line was dropped that Elisabeth Shue is in talks to star in Alex Aja’s PIRANHA 3D!
You may remember Shue from such classic films as THE ADVENTURES IN BABY SITTING, THE KARATE KID, LEAVING LAS VEGAS, and HOLLOW MAN. Not only is Shue hot, but she’s classy and has the experienced edge to make a film like PIRANHA 3D respectable. That is, if this breaking ‘news’ wasn’t smelling of utter bullshite.
Two things don’t make sense to me here: 1) this was found out on the set of H2? How does Shue, PIRANHA 3D, and Rob Zombie have anything to do with each other, other than both films being a Dimension release? And 2) I love Shue, but she’s getting a bit old and PIRANHA 3D is supposed to be the ultimate Spring Break movie, meaning lots of college kids on Spring Break. Where does she fit in? Some kid’s mom? The town’s Sheriff? Hmmm…
