We just learned that Jackie Earle Haley is the new Freddy Krueger on Friday (check out that breaking news HERE), and now Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller is talking about their decision to hire the guy, and other fun NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST. remake news.
He was the only person we ever considered for the role. Spoken straight from the horses mouth over at the PLATINUM DUNES OFFICIAL BLOG, Fuller dishes the goods on hiring Haley as Krueger, and bust out some insight as to when filming may be set to begin.
On Monday we start the process of “creating” Freddy’s makeup. Jackie is going in to have his contact lenses fit as well as a head cast created so we can create the make up to fit perfectly on his face.
Nice. While I’m pretty sure this is gonna be another beautiful film without any real scares or substance, much like every other Platinum Dunes flick out there, I’m still interested to see how this all pans out, and I gotta say I’m diggin’ Haley as the new Freddy. He kicked Rorschach’s ass in WATCHMEN, and I’m sure he’ll do the same thing with this role as well.
