It’s been a while since we heard anything about Kevin Munroe’s WAR MONKEYS. Well today we’ve got an update for the flick and it looks like the movie is no longer Mr. Munroe’s!
ShockTillYouDrop are claiming that Munroe had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with his DEAD OF NIGHT directing gig. Alright then. So who’s the new guy stepping behind the camera? Why it’s Kyle Newman! Newman’s got a few directing credits under his belt but the only noteworthy one would be FANBOYS. You know, the flick that took like a gagillion years to finally hit theaters and bowed out quick. Good thing is word has it FANBOYS wasn’t bad at all so it’ll be interesting to see how Newman follows it up with WAR MONKEYS.
If for some reason you’re up in arms about that, don’t worry too much! Munroe is still on board to produce. Cleve Nettles penned the script and is also co-producing. The movie is set during a Christmas holiday when two janitors get trapped in an underground research facility after accidentally unleashing military-trained Rhesus monkeys. Casting for WAR MONKEYS is set to start next week so keep it here for updates!
