It’s been a while since we heard anything on the alien flick BATTLE: LOS ANGELES, but that changes today with an update coming from The Hollywood Reporter! It seems Chris Bertolini’s original script wasn’t quite working out so Columbia has gone and hired a new writer to re-write the screenplay.
That writer is Scott Silver. Are you asking who is Scott Silver? You’re not alone. Silver is probably best known for penning 8 MILE. He also co-wrote and directed THE MOD SQUAD as well as both writing and directing JOHNS. And… that’s it. So you think Silver is the best guy to re-write a script about an alien invasion pulverizing its way across L.A.? Yeah. Me either. But hell… I’ll give the guy a shot.
THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING’s Jonathan Liebesman is set to direct with the great Aaron Eckhart (above) already pegged to star as a Marine platoon commander.
