It’s been exactly a week since Sam Raimi gave us his two cents on the potential EVIL DEAD 4… and the man is at it again! Shouldn’t Raimi be going around talking about SPIDER-MAN 4? No. The man can’t stop talking about his possible fourth entry to the EVIL DEAD franchise.
Alright… maybe I’m overexaggerating a little… but I’m not kidding. Sam Raimi has once again gone ahead and said some interesting little tidbits on what could be possible with EVIL DEAD 4. This time it’s coming from over at MTV. MTV recently caught up with Sam Raimi at the DRAG ME TO HELL premiere and asked the director the same question that he’s been asked hundreds of times before I’m sure: ‘What’s going on with EVIL DEAD 4? And is Bruce Campbell really out?’ Well Raimi responded once again, this time a little more matter-of-factly. In regards to whether he’d like to revist the EVIL DEAD franchise with part 4:
“I hope to, yes. Every time I say I would like to [revisit the films], people say, ‘where the hell is it!?!’ But I’m just glad people are still interested. But yes, I would really like to do [another ‘Evil Dead’ film]. I’ve just got a commitment to make ‘Spider-Man 4’ right now though.”
Wait… so could that possibly mean EVIL DEAD 4 will come directly after SPIDER-MAN 4? Ha! When pigs fly. We all know there’s a planned 5th and 6th SPIDER-MAN, and those little green pieces of paper with the dead presidents on it… yeah I’m sure Raimi would love to scoop those bad boys up instead of returning to that grungy cabin. But alas… I guess we can still hold on hope if you haven’t given up yet. Also in regards to Campbell’s recent comments and The Chin himself, Raimi added:
“He can dream all he wants. He’s trying to get out of getting back in shape. I’m going to kick his butt in shape. I’m gonna say ‘get back in the chainsaw!’…. He’s a really nice, but he pretends that he’s a really rough bastard.”
Well there you have it. Wouldn’t it be awesome if Raimi’s got EVIL DEAD 4 in the back of his head the whole time he’s making that damn superhero movie? Come on people! Let’s keep hammering the man with EVIL DEAD 4, he’s got to crack sooner or later… right?
