A few weeks ago My Buddy Eric dropped some details on the upcoming Pang Brothers THE CHILD’S EYE 3-D, a sequel to the original THE EYE, not the recent remake (check that scoop HERE). Today Variety is fleshing out the story with some more details that should give you a better idear what THE CHILD’S EYE 3-D is all about.
Ok then smarty pants, what is THE CHILD’S EYE 3-D all about? Check it: [The film revolves around] six stranded Hong Kong travelers during the shutdown of the Bangkok airport in the November 2008 anti-government protest and their supernatural encounters after the disappearance of three in the group. [The film will also feature] an underworld made up of paper replica houses, filled with paper dolls and paper cars – a city formed by all the paper-made facsimile of the real world burnt and offered to the deceased in the traditional Chinese ancestor worship ritual.
And there you have it. The Bangkok airport, a town made up of paper, supernatural encounters, all in 3-D. Cool. I guess.
With a budget around $4.5M, it should be interesting to see if the Pang Bros. can pull it off. Stick around for more info. on THE CHILD’S EYE 3-D as we hear more about it!
THE EYE’s Jessica Alba!
