The Hollywood Reporter has some news that you don’t hear every day… producer Gilbert Adler is jumping on board DEAD OF NIGHT, the DYLAN DOG adaptation starring Brandon Routh. I say it’s out of the ordinary because these announcement usually pertain to actors joining the cast, not producers joining the other producers. Wonders never cease to amaze me…
Also wrapped into the new producer’s announcement is that DEAD is starting production today in New Orleans, where the movie takes place. Very cool! And here we thought it was just going to be a perpetual rumor that was never going to happen. Well guess what? It’s happening!
As a brief recap, DEAD OF NIGHT is about a private investigator who stumbles onto the world of the undead.
Adler has produced a number of fairly awesome flicks, including CONSTANTINE, GHOST SHIP, and HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL. Considering the caliber, I’d say it’s a good thing he’s on board DEAD, though (let’s face it) the producer doesn’t determine the awesomeness of a movie by any means…
