Hasbro talks Ouija

It’s no secret that Platinum Dunes are going to be hard at work with A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, but what about after that? One of the films on their upcoming slate is the supernatural flick OUIJA, which is based on that game hopscotch. No, it’s based on the Ouija Board.

Details on the project have been scarce. Actually there haven’t been any at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if Plat. Dunes haven’t even thought about it yet. But someone who is thinking about OUIJA would be Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner, who is also executive producing the movie. MTV recently caught up with Goldner to ask him a bit about OUIJA. In the interview we’ve finally got our first details on what we can expect from the film. Goldner states:

“In Ouija you ask questions and then you get these answers. And sometimes these answers are unintended answers. So be careful what you ask, that’s the element of the game that I think is so fun. You sort of use that insight about really playing Ouija as the jumping off point for a story for a movie, and then you link it to something much bigger.”

He speaks a lot more on everything and anything OUIJA. You can read the rest of the interview right over here. When Platinum Dunes are going to fit this one in, I’m not sure. I’m assuming they’ll squeeze OUIJA between NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and FRIDAY THE 13TH 2. Keep it here for any and all Platinum Dunes/OUIJA updates as we hear them!

Think she’s played the Ouija before…?
