New Scream trilogy?

One piece of news I try and steer clear of is the news as to whether there will be a SCREAM 4 or not. Because, really, it’s not news, and it hasn’t been news for more than a decade, it’s all simply rumors that I can’t bring myself to attempt to believe anymore. But today, this news… this news seems legit.

The boys over at Rope of Silicon have apparnetly come into contact with a document from the William Morris Agency detailing the latest deal they helped seal for Kevin Williamson, the writer of SCREAM and I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER.

The new deal? Williamson has been signed on by the Weinstein Company to write a new SCREAM trilogy, with SCREAM 4, 5, and 6! I shit you not, the report is suggesting that not only will there be a part 4, but parts 5 and 6 are already scheduled to follow.

Take a second for that to set in. A new SCREAM trilogy from Williamson. Wow. I’m speechless.

Of course, this could all be someone’s big idea of a joke that they whipped together using photoshop and a great deal of free time, but… what if it’s not just some internet shenanigans, but the real deal? How flippin’ cool would that be?

To check out the hard evidence and see for yourself, including the other movie Williamson has been signed on to wirte and direct, click HERE and decide for yourself. My gut’s calling bullshit, but honestly… I’m hoping it’s legit!
