Wild Heart Of Karl

Here is a very interesting horror short called HEART OF KARL which just so happened to win 1st place at the Winnipeg Short Film Massacre last October. Oh Canada indeed! And now, it looks like the short is crossing the border over to the U.S. It just recently premiered at the 11th Annual San Francisco Independent Film Festival on Sunday, February 8th. KARL was conceived within the sickly creative mind of filmmaker Steven Kostanski, who also made the wonderfully titled LAZER GHOSTS 2: RETURN TO LAZER COVE. Take a gander at its plot:

HEART OF KARL tells the story of two brothers who must fight to escape an unholy institution populated with an endless sea of ghoulish creatures. Will Max (Conor Sweeney) be able to see past the disturbing condition of his brother Karl (Matthew Kennedy) and lead them to safety, or will his personal flaws trap them forever in a world of darkness and misery?

It looks even wilder than it sounds like that pic from the short below. You can even check out the trailer by clicking right here. In addition to Sweeney and Kennedy, the rest of the cast includes Meredith Sweeney, Adam Brooks, and Jeremy Gillespie. Writer/director Kostanski even handled the special effects. Let’s hope we hear a lot more from this guy in the future.
