The Hollywood Reporter announced this morning that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Katherine Heigel’s dead love interest in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and the Comedian in WATCHMEN) has joined Hillary Swank in the upcoming thriller THE RESIDENT, and if you’ve ever rented an apartment and have had a bizarre landlord before, then this sucker should be right up your alley.
Written by Erin Cressida Wilson, THE RESIDENT goes a little something like this: a young doctor (Swank) moves into a loft in Brooklyn where mysterious occurrences lead her to suspect that she is not alone in her home. She discovers that her seemingly charming landlord (Morgan) has developed a dangerous obsession with her, resulting in a terrifying game of cat and mouse.
Stalkings, probably some video of Swank showering, and of course, there’s no doubt some peeping Tom action going on. If we’re lucky, we’ll get to see Swank’s goods along with a pretty good thrill ride, as home invasion shit like this (to me, at least) is freakin’ terrifying.
Hammer Films (!) is producing the flick, and Antti J. Jokinen is all set to direct. Morgan could very well have the acting chops to pull something like this off, especially if he does a bang-up job as the ‘bad’ guy in WATCHMEN, but all I can think of when I see him is his silly romance on ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ I hope he can make me forget he even has a romantic side with this one.
Anyway, stick around for more of THE RESIDENT as it’s announced!
