Munroe on Night

STYD scored some tidbits from writer / director Kevin Munroe recently about the status of DEAD OF NIGHT aka the big screen adaptation of Dylan Dog with Brandon Routh attached to star. We’ve been hearing, for what seems like months, about DEAD OF NIGHT, and from what I can tell, it’s all been talk and no movement… until now, that is!

Munroe’s status report actually alludes to a shooting schedule that starts fairly soon… check it out: Filming will hopefully begin at the end of March. The crew is coming together right now. The script is pretty much done and we started going out to the cast last week.

Oh for the love of Jesus, it looks like it’s actually going to happen! And sooner than I’d hoped, but at this rate, we may see a final product by the end of the year, or even (gasp!) by January 2010, a month that is proving that horror can actually make some decent bank.

DEAD OF NIGHT tells the tale of the adventures of supernatural private eye, Dylan Dog, who seeks out the monsters of London in his signature red shirt, black jacket, and blue jeans.

Monroe was recently announced as the writer / director of EL ZOMBO (check that shite out HERE), another supernatural comic book to big screen adaptation–what a busy guy! To check out the full scoop on DEAD OF NIGHT, click HERE, and stick around for more updates as they fly our way!
