Times, they are a-changing! Today we (finally) get to see a new president take over the Oval Office, and we get to see Whoopi Goldberg star in an online horror series over at FEARnet! Whoa–say what???
As utterly bizarre and obnoxious as that sounds, it’s true… the series is called STREAM, and it goes a little something like this: Spanning 6 episodes (each several minutes in length), the series stars
Whoopi as Jodi Quinn, a woman who spends a lifetime wrestling with her
personal demons and gathering the strength to face her worst fears.
Thanks to a drug she took when she was seventeen, moments from various
points in Jodi’s life become intertwined, effectively letting her
experience two moments at once. The story snaps back and forth through
three phases of Jodi’s life: her past as an intelligent but headstrong
teen; her present in a psychiatric facility, and her future as an
adult clinging to a normal life after years of tribulation.
Sounds more like a drama than a horror flick actually, but as it deals with ‘inner demons,’ facing ‘worst fears,’ and it’s on FEARnet, I’ll have to trust that it is, indeed, horrorifying. And since it stars Goldberg, then yes… it will be horrorifying!
