Earlier this week I showed you a poster for the Vinnie Jones horror comedy BOG BODIES (check that shit out HERE). At the time, it didn’t look like a North American release date was near, but oh what a difference a few days makes!
BOG producers Paul Valentine and Joe Condren had a chat with IFTN in which they spilled the beans on the U.S. distribution deal… but don’t take my word for it, read for yourself: We have done a deal with Grindstone Entertainment Group who are releasing ‘Bog Bodies’ through Lionsgate in early 2009. Grindstone bought North American rights and it’s a fairly big US deal we did with them… Lionsgate have bought all rights for the film in North America so they can do what they want with it really, whether it is going to cinema release or straight to DVD we are not sure yet.
Ah yes, the STD or not dilemma. If the ‘early 2009’ date is to be trusted, then I’m thinking this beast is gonna make it’s debut on DVD… however, if that has changed, we may see it on the big screen, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. For some reason, I’m thinking Lionsgate is bigger than this movie, and they simply wouldn’t waste their time for a big theatrical distribution… then again, it does star Vinnie Jones, so who knows?
