Alright, now this upcoming bit of news means absolutely nothing to me, but apparently it’s worth mentioning considering the rounds it’s making on the internet. According to Variety, Taylor Lautner will be returning as Jacob Black in NEW MOON, the sequel to TWILIGHT.
Right. So it seems word had it that Lautner (right) wouldn’t be returning. You see, this is all a big deal because Jacob Black will be playing a much bigger role in NEW MOON than he did in TWILIGHT. How so? Well here’s the official synopsis for NEW MOON:
Bella Swan is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black. Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested.
Alright then. Vampires versus werewolves? That might be worth checking out. Might be. I’ve got this slight uneasy feeling because of the fact that we’re still posting TWILIGHT/NEW MOON updates… seems like we had zero down time in between. Back to Lautner though..
There were some worries whether Lautner could portray Black in NEW MOON, considering Black goes through some major changes. In response Lautner has been hitting the weights and is ’emotionally right’ for the part according to director Chris Weitz. NEW MOON already has a release date of November 20th, so I’m sure we’ll be getting a lot more updates soon.
