Just yesterday we showed you all the new TV spot for MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D. Well today we’ve got a bit more, rather unfortunate news for you all regarding VALENTINE.
It seems like some of us may be SOL on seeing VALENTINE in 3-D. A recent article in the NY Times pointed out that MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D will only by 3-D in about 900 theaters. The 2-D version (boo!) will be found on over 1600 screens. Oh that’s just dirty, though it’s not Lionsgate’s fault. With MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D being pegged as a huge step forward in both the genre and filmmaking, a lot of theaters just aren’t prepared equipment wise for it. That’s highly unfortunate considering the 3-D aspect is VALENTINE’s biggest selling point.
I know I’ll be scouring my area for a theater showing this bad boy in 3-D. I’m loving how these flicks seem to be dropping all that torture shit and going back to the more traditional anxious tension of the older slasher flicks. Oh I’m down! MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D seems to be gaining some major word of mouth, all of which has been positive it seems! So it looks like we may be in for one badass movie, especially if your lucky enough to catch it in 3-D!
Let’s hope Patrick Lussier comes through big! And on an unrelated note, Lussier will be directing a flick called CONDITION DEAD, which comes from a script by JoBlo.com’s own Dave Davis! Can’t wait to hear more on that one! Now with MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D’s release date only one month away in January 16th, make sure to keep it here for any more updates as we hear them.
