QUARANTINE – February 17th
I never got the chance to see this remake of [REC], but everything I heard from those who did check it out said it was pretty good… a shot for shot remake of the original. And since the original was so good, it’s no wonder this carbon copy was good as well. But you know what’s not so good? This DVD cover. Mirroring the film’s theatrical poster, I just don’t see the point. There’s no better image to use than Jennifer Carpenter being hauled away screaming? Ah well… the flick made some bank, so I guess it was effective enough. But what’s this? A ghoul in the background? Say… I haven’t seen that before!

RED MIST – February 10th
I don’t even know what this shit is about, other than this chick on the cover looks craaaa-zeee! Like really flippin’ crazy! Like, so crazy I wouldn’t want to be caught in an alley with her… not even on my best day! The flick features Arielle Kebbel, and though she’s hot, I think this crazy chick on the cover and Kebbel are… you guessed it… the same person! Nooooooo!

DONNIE DARKO: DIRECTOR’S CUT – February 10th
A buddy of mine once said that DONNIE DARKO changed his life. Seriously, after he watched why people wear stupid human suits, his life (according to him) was changed forever. And now it can change a second time, with this super deluxe director’s cut chocked full of extras and a wicked cover. Hell, this set even comes with a separate DVD that has all the special features… not sure why they couldn’t have included that on the Blu-Ray itself, but why question these things? Long live Donnie Darko!
