Mexican Salt horror

Hola mi amigos! I’ve got ya’ll a new horror indie coming to us from Mexico. It’s called BAJO LA SAL, which translates to “UNDER THE SALT”. A bit of a strange title if I do say so, but after reading over the plot, as well as glancing at the flick’s poster up top, I’m starting to get the meaning. Here’s the synopsis:

A series of murders leads commander TRUJILLO to Santa Rosa de la Sal a town close to a salt mine, where he meets VÍCTOR ZEPEDA – a lonely teenager who works in his father funeral home and spends his free time making crude animated horror films – who’s strange behavior seems to point at him as the culprit of the crimes.

Well, that definitely sounds original and different. Do yourself a favor and check out it’s official site here. Even though it’s in Spanish, you’ll easily be able to find loads of pics, trailers and other videos, and more. I’ve gotta say that BAJO is looking pretty bangin’ (especially some of the clips involving the “crude animated horror movies”). I’d definitely ask someone to pass me this salt.

The flick was directed by Mario Muñoz who co-wrote the script with Angel Pulido. It stars Humberto Zurita, Plutarco Haza, Emilio Guerrero, Irene Azuela , Ricardo Polanco, and Moises Arizmendi. BAJO has already been released by Warner Bros internationally, so hopefully we’ll be seeing it in the States soon.
