David R. Ellis has directed films about crazy people (ASYLUM), death (FINAL DESTINATION 2 and 4), cell phones (CELLULAR), and snakes on a plane (SNAKES ON A PLAN). And now it looks like he’s setting his sights a little higher with an intense little thriller that, according to Ellis, is the best script I’ve been associated with.
Variety announced over the weekend that Ellis will be directing SIX DAYS TILL MIDNIGHT, from a script by Mark Bacci. MIDNIGHT is about a wealthy businessman who encounters a stranger who says he has six days to answer one question. For each day he doesn’t get the answer, a loved one will be killed, ending with the businessman’s death at the end of the sixth day.
Whoa. Now that’s kinda f*cked up, eh? The biggest question now is, what the hell is the question in question??? Must be important or extremely difficult… definitely something you wouldn’t find on Jeopardy, that’s for sure.
Filming is set to begin this April and will have a $25M budget. No stars have been attached yet, but Ellis has a knack for bringing in some mighty talented talent on board his films, so the casting for this beast should be interesting. Stick around for more on SIX DAYS TILL MIDNIGHT as we hear it!
