Unborn gets rated

David S. Goyer’s THE UNBORN has been looking pretty f*cking badass, ever since it’s first cool poster made it online (check it out HERE). I was even more transfixed once I saw the trailer, and immediately put the flick near the top of my must see horror flicks of 2009.

Until today. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but… that’s my job. According to Box Office MoJo, the always fair and never wrong MPAA has given THE UNBORN a PG-13 rating. That’s right, PG-13. For what? For intense sequences of violence and terror, disturbing images, thematic material and language including some sexual references.

The real crappy thing is that those reasons sound like good reasons… for an R rated horror flick! Lots of terror, violence, disturbing images, and sex references. What’s not to love? Oh yeah… that damn PG-13 rating! Damn you Goyer! Damn you Platinum Dunes! Damn you whoever is to blame for this travesty!

Now THE UNBORN is closer to the bottom of my must-see list… at least I can look forward to the unrated DVD which will probably hit in April or May, so no big deal. PG-13 though… man, I am TRULY shocked by this. And here I thought it looked like a tight little R rated flick… THE UNBORN hits theaters everywhere January 9th.
