We got word this morning of a new little horror flick that you should definitely keep your eye on from Bankside Films. We showed you some images from the flick a few months ago (check ’em out HERE), and today we caught wind that genre producer David Lightfoot is now overseeing production on the film.

Lightfoot had his hand in bringing us WOLF CREEK and ROGUE, and it’s no surprise he’s working on the new flick entitled COFFIN ROCK, because ROCK, too, is coming from the land down under.

With a title like COFFIN ROCK, this flick could be about anything, so let’s just dive right into it: [COFFIN ROCK revolves around] Rob and Jess, a couple struggling to conceive a child. In a weak moment, Jess winds up sleeping with a stranger named Evan and later learns she’s pregnant. Her guilt turns to horror as Evan begins a terrifying transformation from stalker to psychopath, determined to prove paternity of the child and claim Jess as his own.

Sounds like fun, no? Throw in some FATAL ATTRACTION and a touch of CAPE FEAR, and you have COFFIN ROCK in a nutshell. And you have me sold on this thing being awesome!

Written and directed by Rupert Glasson, and starring Robert Taylor, Lisa Chappell (below), and Sam Parsonson, the flick is scheduled for a release in the UK sometime in 2009, with a US release date currently scheduled for UnKnown. But with a coolness level reaching high on this beast, I will no doubt set and announced very soon.
