Hex needs director?

Early last month word dropped that the great Josh Brolin would be going deformed cowboy on us for the titular role in JONAH HEX. Well that hasn’t been confirmed yet… but I think it’s pretty safe to go along with it.

Well how about some totally unexpected news for you all on the JONAH HEX front? Seems like directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are OFF the project. That’s right. According to Variety the long time attached directors have dropped out of production. Why? Why else: creative differences of course. We all know by now that ‘creative differences’ can mean anything and everything so who knows.

This comes as somewhat of a shocker considering Neveldine and Taylor seemed stoked for HEX. Whenever these guys would open their mouths it seemed the conversation would always turn to their upcoming HEX. So where do we go from here?

It seems the studio will still be using the script from Neveldine and Taylor, at least for the time being. Meanwhile they’re on the fast track to finding a new helmer so they can keep with their Spring 2009 start date, apparently so they won’t lose Brolin. We should be hearing some more on this soon, so keep it here for updates.
