Depp = Mad Hatter

When news hit that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp were reteaming yet again on the adaptation of Lewis Carol’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND, I almost fainted. What a perfect combination to help bring the story to life in a different, non-Disney way (although the Disney cartoon is one of my favs).

The fine folks over at Johnny-Depp.org scored, what appears to be, the first image of Depp as the Mad Hatter in the film. While I’m not sure if it’s an image or an artists rendering of what Depp will look like… all I know is that it’s echoing that Burton / Depp look and feel that we’ve all come to expect and love. Very nice!

Crazy hair, a giant hat, pasty skin, and even his side-kick brown rabbit is up in the mix… and correct me if I’m wrong, but this guy looks like he’s gonna scare the pants off of Alice, and not entertain her at an Un-Birthday tea party!

ALICE co-stars Anne Hathaway (below), Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Sheen, Mia Wasikowska, Matt Lucas, Crispin Glover, Stephen Fry and Alan Rickman, and is looking to hit theaters in 2010. For the full glimpse at the new image, click HERE and get ready for more on ALICE IN WONDERLAND as we hear more about it!
