The last time we heard from OTTO; OR UP WITH DEAD PEOPLE was way the f*ck back in January when the film’s first teaser trailer hit the net (check that shit HERE). Since then, we haven’t heard squat outta the OTTO camp… that is, until today!
There’s a new poster of the Bruce LaBruce film, and in my opinion… it works! I dig the ridiculously long title, the witty tag line’s play on pop culture, and the warning of extreme zombie sex at the bottom. That’s classic. I’d probably prefer a big tittied chick (like the one below) versus this shirtless dude, but that’s just me… different strokes for different folks, as the saying goes.
We’re still not sure of the film’s release date, but we can at least fill you in on its story: “Otto; or, Up with Dead People” presents as its central character Otto, a young man who may or may not be a zombie, depending on your point of view. Otto is first seen walking down a deserted stretch of highway, not knowing exactly where he came from or where he’s going. He is dressed as a kind of neo-Goth dandy, but his clothes look and smell like they are rotting on his body. After hitching a ride with a clueless elderly couple that drops him off in the city, it quickly becomes apparent that there is something distinctly odd about Otto. He seems to be homeless, taking refuge in an abandoned amusement park, and he never sleeps. He also has an eating disorder: he has an aversion to consuming human flesh. He’s a zombie with an identity crisis.
