Steven Spielberg and Clint Eastwood. Even if you can’t stand these men, you have to admit they’re pretty genius when it comes to filmmaking. That’s a pretty fair assessment, wouldn’t you say? If you agree with me then the news today coming from Variety should have you pretty giddy with excitement. Well maybe not ‘giddy with excitement,’ let’s leave that to those TWILIGHT fans.
Variety dropped word today that Spielberg and Eastwood are looking to work together on the supernatural thriller HEREAFTER. Wait… what? Yes. Filmmakers extraordinaire Steven Spielberg and Clint Eastwood may be teaming up to bring us a ghost flick. That’s a bit out of left field but who cares, it’s some pretty awesome news.
Peter Morgan, who penned the upcoming FROST/NIXON, wrote the script. We don’t know much about the plot other than it’s along the lines of THE SIXTH SENSE. Well the SIXTH SENSE was pretty awesome, and word is Morgan is one fantastic writer. So couple all this with Eastwood and Spielberg and we may just have something here!
Spielberg’s DreamWorks currently own the script. Eastwood would be directing with Kathleen Kennedy producing. We’ll definitly be keeping a close eye on this one with hopes HEREAFTER ends up being a pretty twisted ghost story. Keep it here for updates. By the way… is it just me or is Eastwood’s bowtie in that picture above pretty awesome?
