Damn, it really seems that Mr. Jason Mewes is looking to carve his name into our genre. Having already acted in roles for FEAST, THE TRIPPER, NETHERBEAST INCORPORATED, and the upcoming SILENT BUT DEADLY, the former “yin” to Silent Bob’s “yang” has yet another horror flick locked and loaded! This one’s called BITTEN and yes, you guessed it, the plot involves vampires. Here, have a bite:
A lovelorn paramedic rescues a woman left for dead after a deadly assault. When she refuses to go to the hospital, he takes her in, nurses her back to health and soon falls in love with her. Before long the mysterious woman suffers withdrawal symptoms, leaving the paramedic to believe his newfound love is a drug addict. Coming home to find a blood-drained corpse on his floor, he learns she does indeed have an addiction problem but it’s not to drugs…
And yes, I believe that Mr. Mewes does play the heroic paramedic. Wow, that former stoner sure has come a long way. I wish him luck. BITTEN also sounds like a breeding ground for some kick ass horror/comedy. Mewes actually has proven himself pretty adept at timing jokes through all his work with Kevin Smith. I’m interested to see how this one turns out. Oh yeah, and up top you can see the flick’s first official poster.
BITTEN was directed by Harvey Glazer and written by Tim McGregor and Tyler Levine. In addition to Mewes, it stars Erica Cox (below), Richard Fitzpatrick, Jordan Madley, Nic Nac, and Stuart Stone. No word yet on a U.S. release.
