Here’s a potentially fun “house horror” flick that is most likely looking to become another Halloween staple. It’s called HOUSE OF FEARS and for some reason, I am liking the wacky-ass look of the ghoul in the poster up top. I also happen to be a sucker for amusement park/carnival-themed carnage, which just so happens to be the basis for HOUSE’s plot:
The night before a local haunted house opens for Halloween, six friends sneak in for a few hours of fun. Soon after entering, they find themselves trapped inside with no way out. Their evening of fun rapidly turns into their worst nightmare as they begin to die and disappear in the most freakish of manners. With every effort to escape blocked, the survivors find themselves being driven deeper into the carnivalesque world of terror. Unable to tell what is real and what is counterfeit, they must trust one another, even if it kills them.
I know it seems like a basic horror movie plot, but an irresistible one nonetheless! For further proof, check out HOUSE OF FEAR’s trailer at its production company’s official website here. It actually looks pretty damn entertaining.
The flick was directed by Canadian Ryan Little from a script by Steven A. Lee. It stars Corri English (THE UNBORN, below), Sandra McCoy, Michael J. Pagan, Corey Sevier, Alice Greczyn, and Eliot Benjamin. No word yet on an exact theatrical or DVD release date.
