Do you live in the Los Angeles area? Are you looking for something to do this Friday night–that is, are you looking for something to do Halloween night? Well, if you’re plans are still flexible and you ain’t got nothing solid to attend yet, then this might just tickle your fancy.
Director Edgar Wright is hosting a double-feature at the New Beverly Cinema to celebrate the holiday, showcasing SHAUN OF THE DEAD and RIKI-OH: THE STORY OF RICKY. Nice double-bill!
Wright will also be showing his ‘uncut’ trailer for DON’T (for the first time EVER in the U.S.) as well as a a bunch of other classic grindhouse-style trailers from the 70s and 80s.
For those who haven’t seen RIKI OH, it would be in your best interest to hit this double feature up. While it’s not straight up horror, it is one of the most over-the-top splatter movies ever made. As Wright puts it, what could be more Halloween-y than a ridiculously gory futuristic prison romp with a hero who can play the flute and punch through peoples heads? Indeed.
