A while ago we showed you the first still from Sam Raimi’s DRAG ME TO HELL. The clip looked kind of .. blah. We get some scruffy looking old demon on top of star Alison Lohman. While the pic suggest DRAG ME TO HELL might have a certain creepy factor to it, as well as showing a ray of Raimi’s EVIL DEAD goodness in there, for the most part it didn’t seem like anything new.
And the new patch of pics released today via MTV don’t say much more either. While these stills aren’t exactly exciting, I find myself digging them. DRAG ME TO HELL has moved a couple notches up my ‘intrigued’ belt. Then again it’s Sam Raimi’s return to horror, so there’s some pretty high expectations.
I’ve thrown up a couple of the stills here, click through to check out larger versions along with the other two stills. Above you can find a picture of a scared looking Lohman and Justin Long. Groovy. Below you’ll find a shot of Lohman from the flick where she seems to be all muddied up and wet… and tight tshirt… and dirty… So yeah. The other two stills have an unexciting shot of Lohman and Long chatting along with a closeup shot of that sexy demon thing.
So there you have it. It’s good to see some media coming out for Raimi’s DRAG ME TO HELL, let’s just hope he can meet the expectations! DRAG will obviously be directed by Sam Raimi, who also penned the script with brother Ivan. It deals with an unsuspecting young woman who becomes the recipient of a supernatural curse cast upon her by an older Eastern European woman who was defied and humiliated by others. It’s set to hit theaters next year on May 29.
