Taken slasher flick

Oh sweet! I’ve just come across a new horror slasher that positively reeks of 80’s throwback vintage goodness! Plus, I believe it has the potential to score very high on the gore scale! The flick is called THE TAKEN and it is coming our way from writer/director Richard Valentine (BLOODY MARY). I’m totally digging its S & M-looking killer up top as well as its great-excuse-for-gore plot. Have a look:

A group of strangers find themselves imprisoned in an abandoned hospital, captives of a masked, sledgehammer-wielding killer. Unfortunately for our victims, he likes to dabble in amateur surgery and human dissection.

Not f*cking bad at all! Plus, the flick was shot entirely on location at a former psychiatric hospital that stands a bulky three-stories high. There be some major bonus points for authenticity, my friends. This leads me to believe that Valentine is setting out to create something sickly special.

THE TAKEN stars Jessica Von, E.S. Pierce, Brian Berry, Kathryn Coutu, Dex Manley, Anna Pippus, and Richard Carmen. It’s looking to release some time in 2009.
