Not too long ago, my man Eric hit you guys up with the trailer for a French flick whose name translates to HUMANS. However, I prefer its native tongue title, HUMAINS, much better. I guess I like the fact that it combines the words “Humans” and “Remains” to produce a horror-friendly hybrid.

Anyways, we’ve got ourselves a slew of new pics from the flick to feast our eyes upon. You’ve got one up top, one below, and the rest here. From what I’ve seen so far, this one looks like it’s shaping up to be a nice addition to the “outdoor attackers” subgenre. Here’s the plot:

A team of several researchers travel to the Swiss Alps to investigate a scientific discovery on human evolution. The trip, however, turns into a deadly fight for survival when the team crash into a gully and find themselves falling prey to someone…or something.

HUMAINS is coming to us from the first-time directing duo of Pierre-Olivier Thévenin and Jacques-Olivier Molon. The script came from the team of Jean-Armand Bougrelle and Frédérique Henri. The cast includes Lorànt Deutsch, Dominique Pinon, Philippe Nahon (the creepy villain in HIGH TENSION), and Sara Forestier. So far the only release date is for April, 2009 in France.
