French horror/thriller remake no. 229: 13 TZAMETI. The flick, released in 2006, has been set up at Paramount Vantage for the remake treatment (retitled to 13) and has been looking like you’re run-of-the-mill remake… until today. Because today the cast was revealed, and boy… do they pack a mean punch!
Check this out: Sam Riley, 50 Cent, Mickey Rourke, and Jason Statham are all set to star in the flick, which starts filming in New York City next month. What a f*cking line-up! Could this flick be filled with any more testosterone than it already has? While Riley is just a scrawny young chap, 50, Rourke, and Statham make up for him and then some. Sweet!

Believe me when I say it’s way more hardcore than it sounds. 13 is to be directed by original 13 TZAMETI writer / director Gela Babluani, and with a cast like that–let him! Sure, there’s no need to remake the original, but I can’t wait to see Statham and Rourke duke it out! Stick around for more on 13 as we hear it!
