People have their opinions about Tim Burton. Some can’t stand any of his movies… others find everything the man touches to be fantastic. I’m definately a fan of Mr. Burton’s. I like almost all of his films, some I find to be great even. Now this is all leading to another bit of casting news for Burton’s latest – ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
Now the film is currently filming, with Mike getting us all tingly with a look at the first pics from the set the other day. Now it’s no secret that some guy named Johnny Depp has signed on to play the Mad Hatter, and it’s also been announced that Mia Wasikowska is playing the titular Alice while LITTLE BRITAIN USA’s Matt Lucas will be Tweedledee and Tweedledum.
Now while we don’t know exactly what character he’ll be playing, it’s been announced that Michael Sheen (above) has just signed on to the project.
Now to be honest, Michael Sheen doesn’t ring any bells in my head… that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been around though. Sheen is a mainstay in all three UNDERWORLD films and is probably most known for tackling roles in more serious flicks, like FROST/NIXON. So I guess it comes as a bit of a surprise that Sheen would sign on for Burton’s (hopefully) trippy trip to Wonderland.
Sheen seems to be a decent actor though, so I’m all for him joining the project. Who do you think he’ll play? There’s still plenty of key characters available… like that stoner caterpiller!
