Woody for Zombieland

When I was in college Woody Harrelson stopped at my school during one of his cross-country bike trips to give us all a talk. That guy was (well, he still is) a huge stoner (and so were all the rest of us), and I’ve been a huge fan ever since. Actually, I’ve been a fan since ‘Cheers,’ and now we get to look forward to seeing him in something that’s more up our alley.

The Hollywood Reporter announced this morning htat Harrelson is set to star in the upcoming horror comedy ZOMBIELAND for Columbia Pictures. A horror comedy? Called ZOMBIELAND? Starring Harrelson? I’m so there!

To be directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by writing team Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, ZOMBIELAND goes like this: a mismatched pair of survivors find friendship and redemption in a world overrun by zombies. Harrelson plays one of the men, a zombie fighter named Albuquerque.

Nice. One, it’s a world taken over by zombies. And two, Harrelson’s name is Albuquerque. You don’t see that very often! No word on who the other dude will be, but if it’s a mis-matched pair, it’ll likely be somebody fat and goofy. Nick Frost? Now that would be awesome.

Stick around to see who else survived ZOMBIELAND, and for more info on this project as it comes our way.
