A little bit of Rambo 101 for those who know but still care or
those that don’t know at all… and care. In David Morrel’s
FIRST BLOOD novel, Rambo tries to take out his tormentor
Sherriff Teasle. But his sneaky
mentor Col. Trautman creeps up behind him and mows him down with a shot gun
blow to the head.
Of course once adapted to the screen, Rambo surrendered
to Trautman in FIRST BLOOD hence making way for 3 sequels. But that could’ve NOT been since another ending was shot, one
that had Rambo take the RIP highway. Thankfully for us Rambo fans, test audiences found that finale
too much of a bummer so the filmmakers had him turn himself in (pictured
above). You can still see RAMBO die below!.
This above death scene was eventually used as part of a dream
sequence in
the recent
RAMBO (Part 4) movie.
