Fassbender a Bastard

With all the crazy casting news that has been thrown around for Quentin Tarantino’s INGLORIOUS BASTARDS, the announcement of the latest casting decision seems almost boring… and yet, is probably one of the only ones (besides the casting of Brad Pitt) that makes any sense.

Variety announced that Michael Fassbender (of 300 fame) is in final negotiations to play… well, that’s just it. There’s no mention of who Fassbender will be playing, other than he will be having a role in the film. Could he be one of the first Nazi’s cast in the film? Could he be replacing Simon Pegg who had to recently drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

The dude has a look that could either pull off pissed-off American or bitch-ass Nazi, and as we haven’t seen any Nazis cast yet, it would only make sense that this dude, who told attacking forces that the Spartans will fight in the shade, be the first ‘official’ Nazi. But of course, that’s just total speculation at this point…

Stick around for more BASTARD news as it’s announced! Will Eddie Murphy really be cast as one of the film’s key characters? The way things are shaping up, it wouldn’t surprise me!
