Director Joe Francis, the man behind the 70s grindhouse throwback SURVIVAL, gave us a heads up about a new flick he’s working on called THE HILL HOUSE HORROR. Not only do we have the new working title, but a brief synopsis and even a MySpace page to go with it!
Francis gave us a little heads up as to what the flick will be about and where they plan on shooting it: a team of ghost hunters investigates Hill House. Upon meeting the owners of the house, they inquire about it’s history, so we’ll have three tales to tell. The kicker? The house we’re shooting in is actually called Hill House, and is an active live haunted house. Every weekend ghost hunters come out to investigate it and see what they can find. I’ve been inquisitive on the stories, for my own personal benefit (the movie) and curiosity. Today I was told about the murder room. In the back of the house there’s a room that virtually everyone who visits feels something off, gets a morbid chill, or something of the like. Turns out someone was shot in the back in that room, and the story goes that it’s the memory of the person reaching for help when people pass by. It’s stories like these that are not only going to make it into the movie, but will likely create a franchise! This house has many many stories, and will certainly aid us in making a new anthology horror that will grab fans by the balls and not let go.
Sounds fun to me! A real haunted house? An anthology of horror? I’m sold… let’s just hope the house doesn’t turn the filmmakers into ghosts during the course of filming.
