Mummy 3’s Mummy

Universal seems to have lightened up over how much they’re going to reveal from THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR, as their new batch of photos released today feature Jet Li in acual Mummy form, as well as a heavily CGI’d two headed dragon!

The image above is Li, minus skin and in Mummy form, presumably as the Dragon Emperor. Looks fake, but on part with the other MUMMY films. The image below of him with a flame-thrower for a mouth is kinda cool… but again, looks ridiculously fake. I sure hope it looks better on the big screen!

And then for the kicker: the two headed dragon (should’ve known the Dragon Emperor would be the emperor of…. dragons). I’m surprised to see this shot, and while it would look amazing in a video game or an animated film, I don’t know if I can really buy it here. What do you think? Like I said, maybe it’ll look better on the big screen…

There you have it! Mummy and dragon shots from TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR. Only a few more weeks and we’ll finally see if director Rob Cohen did good with the series, or ended up burying it completely… THE MUMMY 3 hits theaters everywhere August 1st.
