The last time we spoke about the foreign horror flick VIRUS UNDEAD was almost a year ago here. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing, but I do know that I’m really liking the new crop of pics just released from the flick. You can check out one above, one below and the rest here. The plot for this VIRUS, though not the most original, ain’t too shabby either. See for yourself:
A small group of friends get together to head out to a mansion in the woods. Once there they settle in for some drinks when all of a sudden an infected maniac begins banging on their doors and quickly they learn of a bird-flu epidemic that is infecting the people of this small town.
So, it’s part THE BIRDS, part THE RAGE, and part “Something” OF THE DEAD. Well, let’s hope VIRUS makes up for its seeming lack of originality with some killer gore FX and a palatable storyline. Apparently it did have a very positive showing at the Shanghai Film Festival and next month will be making its European premiere at the Fantasy Film Festival.
VIRUS UNDEAD was directed by Wolf Wolff (yup that’s really his name) and stars Birthe Wolter, Wolfgang Stegemann, Nikolas Jürgens, Anna Breuer, Marvin Gronen, Jesse Inman. No word yet on a U.S. release date.
