The last I told you about BABYLON A.D. I was telling you about the potentially awesome score we have to look forward to. Well no more music updates, we’ve finally got a new international poster for the futuristic action flick.
It comes from Filmz.ru and can be found above. It’s your usual ‘giant-heads-and-badass-background’ deal. When those giant heads are Vin Diesel and Melanie Thierry though, that’s ok, especially when the background is, in fact, badass.
Though this poster is decent… it’s nowhere near as cool as the previous poster that had Vin walking, getting drenched in rain. Now I really dug that poster.
And is it just me… or does this setting remind anyone else of FUTURAMA? Imagine a badass mercenary character based off Vin Diesel in a FUTURAMA episode? That would be amazing! But enough of my personal dreams… let’s get back to the movie.
BABYLON A.D. is based off the novel by Maurice G. Dantec. Eric Besnard penned the script with Mathieu Kassovitz directing. Along with Diesel and Thierry (below), it also stars Michelle Yeoh, Lambert Wilson, and Mark Strong. Synopsis reads: Veteran-turned-mercenary Thoorop takes the high-risk job of escorting a woman from Russia to China. Little does he know that she is host to an organism that a cult wants to harvest in order to produce a genetically modified Messiah.
I don’t know about the rest of you… but I’m stoked for BABYLON A.D., I dig Vin Diesel as an action star and I’m loving this plot and setting. Here’s hoping we’re not disappointed come August 29.
