Joss Whedon is one busy mofo. Not only is he busy working on a ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ comic book, he’s also working on a new show for Fox this January called DOLLHOUSE starring Eliza Dushku (the hottie below), and even has a few movie projects up his sleeve, including CABIN IN THE WOODS.
Whedon caught up with MTV Movies Blog and dished all sorts of fun stuff regarding the projects he’s currently working on. So what’s the deal with CABIN IN THE WOODS? Produced and co-written by Whedon (alongside Drew Goddard, who also wrote CLOVERFIELD), WOODS is a little like this (according to Goddard himself): It’s got a harder and darker edge, but it’s also got classic Whedon qualities. It’ll rip your heart out and be heartfelt at the same time. There’s a reason the title is so straightforward. It’s its own sub-genre, the cabin in the woods, and this is sort of our take on it. It’s fresh and new.
Oh imagine the possibilities of a movie (especially written by Whedon) who toys with the notion of a cabin in the woods! How freatkin’ awesome is that! No word on director or cast at this point, just that Whedon is producing and getting things lined up.
He also dished the dish about a couple of other projects, including his ill-fated horror flick GONERS, which has currently gone on the backburner over at Universal, and DR. HORRIBLE’S SING-A-LONG BLOG, which will be premiering webisodes starting next week.
