Word going around the net these past couple days is that Platinum Dunes are planning on dropping the teaser trailer for FRIDAY THE 13TH this month at Comic Con.
While I can’t confirm this is for sure, I can definitely confirm that this is what the producing duo of Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are aiming for! And from the looks of it, they’ll get their wish.
When I visited the set of the film last month, the question of how soon we’d see a trailer did come up. And almost immediately Andrew Form responded with ‘Comic Con’. He and Fuller then proceeded to tell us how that would be what they’re aiming for.
That’s all fine and dandy.. but what they mentioned afterwards is the kicker. The guys expressed how they’re huge fans of the marketing for the original FRIDAY THE 13TH.
They also said how they loved the original’s trailer, with the counting from 1 to 13. Possibly even hinting a bit that they might borrow that same concept. Now this is far from a definite thing… but wouldn’t that be f*cking awesome?!
That’s just one of the many cool things I learned on the set of FRIDAY THE 13TH. Another little piece of info they dropped, which I was extremely interested in, was what we can except from the score to the film. Well let’s just say they’ve got the official theme licensed and they feel the score is aiming for more of a ‘classic horror’ sound. Awesome. So hopefully we’ll be hearing that hockey-loving machete-wielding madman’s infamous heavy breathing as he stalks his victims!
